Liner notes
INSERT COIN is not really about arcades. It is about the friends who made a small room feel infinite. A quarter became permission to dream for another round. Empty cans became extra lives.
Three-letter initials became a kind of immortality. Even when the cabinets went dark and the high scores disappeared, the ritual stayed: sharing adventures, cheering each other on, and turning whatever we had into one more chance together.
This is a transmission for the people who taught us that winning was never the whole point. The game ended. The memory kept playing.
Part of the TEKNOLUST TRANSMISSIONS series, this release carries the signal of childhood friendship forward: different tokens, same dream.
INSERT COIN TEKNOLUST
Insert coin…
Shoulder to shoulder with our friends One quarter at a time Turning yesterday's cans Into this weekend's plans
Walking the roadside together Finding treasure in the grass Every empty can became An extra life at last
Three letters on the leaderboard Were all our names could be Somehow seeing our initials Felt like immortality
If anyone ran out Someone always reached
One more token One more round
Insert coin...
No one plays alone
I've been rolling tokens all my life One dream One weekend At a time
Every empty became an extra life Some inside the games we played Some for others far away
We thought we were collecting days But we were beating time
(Beating time...)
Pizza boxes on the floor Dixie cups and nacho trays Tickets flowing from our pockets Saving up for bigger days
We combined our paper fortunes One long colorful chain Winning never mattered half as much As hearing friends cheer your name
We raced impossible highways Fought through sewers and streets Lost many rounds together But never lost each other
Then one summer afternoon Every cabinet went black All our little initials vanished Gone, never coming back
That's when we discovered Some things disappear overnight But we didn’t need electricity To survive the darkest night
The cabinets forgot our names... But we’d never forget those days
I've been spending tokens all my life Different games Different worlds Different ways to dream
Back then they bought another Today they help build tomorrow
Still chasing wonder Still exploring futures Side by side
Turning yesterday's cans Into tomorrow's plans
Every empty can become an extra life
One more token One more chance
We thought we were collecting days But we were beating time
(Beating time...)
Three little initials Still written in our hearts
The high scores did fade But our friendship stayed
Different tokens... Same dream...
Insert coin.
One more memory.
